Andrew Milia testified as a key witness on behalf of the State of Michigan’s Attorney General’s office in the case State of Michigan vs. Chesapeake Energy. The litigation resulted in a victory by the State of Michigan in its criminal complaint against Chesapeake Energy against fraudulent leasing practices in Northern Michigan Oil and Gas leases in 2010. “This is a victory for Michigan taxpayers and a victory for all the Michigan land-owners who took deep hits to their pocketbooks following the October 2010 private land auction,” Attorney General Schuette said in a statement. “This settlement will achieve recovery for every one of the more than 700 affected victims who come forward and make a valid claim.”

Franklin Consulting Company was retained by Bank of America, one of the Nation’s largest financial institutions, for a pending litigation matter in Oakland County Circuit Court. Franklin Consulting will provide expert witness testimony, litigation support and property value analysis for a portfolio of properties located in Macomb County, Michigan. New York based O’Melveny and Myers, LLP, and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan based Plunkett Cooney are providing legal counsel to Bank of America.

Hunter Pasteur Homes, one of Michigan’s leading building companies, retained Franklin Construction Company to complete the due diligence process and obtain site plan approval for a 24-acre site within the City of Novi. The due diligence investigation will include extensive environmental assessment, geotechnical investigation, wetland studies and pre-engineering. The site is planned for an exclusive high end housing development featuring homes up to $1,000,000.

Franklin Construction Company was retained by Hunter Pasteur Homes to obtain site plan approval and develop a 100 unit multi-family condominium complex on Zeeb Road in Scio Township, just outside of Ann Arbor.

Franklin Property Corporation purchased 52-acres on Merritt Road in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan. The property has been site planned approved for an 83 lot subdivision. Franklin Property will hold the property as inventory for development in the near future. Franklin Property has developed the nearby Whittaker Village and Bellemeade subdivisions of 98 lots and 142 lots respectively.

Franklin Consulting Company was retained by a Farmington Hills, Michigan investment company to provide financial analysis and consulting services regarding a commercial loan for an industrial property portfolio in Livonia, Michigan. Franklin Consulting was able to secure a discounted loan payoff from the lender, Lincoln Financial Insurance Company, enabling the investor to obtain suitable takeout financing with a new lender. Franklin Consulting has been retained by numerous developer and investor clients to represent them in commercial loan modifications for in excess of 50 loan transactions on properties throughout the United States with CMBS, Life Insurance Companies and National Banks.
